RH Amar shows Great Taste with Awards13th September 2016
RH Amar is celebrating after brands it distributes won 12 awards at the 2016 Great Taste Awards, the company’s best ever haul.
Beating its previous record of nine awards in 2013, the company impressed judges with a range of innovative offerings including:
- A range of tasty meat jerky in Tangy Tomato Beef and Honey Mustard Pork from new UK producer Top Herd - both available in 35g and 70g pouches
- Succulent All Butter Gouda Cheese Straws (85g box) and Parmagiano Reggiano Crumbles (75g box) from celebrated Dutch producer Buiteman
- Mutti, for its much-lauded cans of finely chopped tomatoes, which are already attracting five-star reviews from customers of Ocado, where the full Mutti range is securing a loyal following
- Three awards for Japanese producer Kikkoman, for its Teriyaki Marinade & Sauce (250ml bottle), Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce (150ml bottle) and Gluten-free Soy Sauce (250ml)
Great Taste Award ‘stars’ were also awarded to the finest sauerkraut from German producer Kühne (810g jar), Gaea protected origin Sitia Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Crete (500ml bottle) and Cooks&Co Mixed Pitted Greek Olives with Chilli in Brine (1kg catering pack).
Meanwhile, Gaea’s superb new Balsamic & Honey Creme (200ml) – a mouth-watering combination of barrel aged vinegar and Cretan thyme honey that is perfect for adding to salads, raw or cooked vegetables, cheese, or even strawberries, or for mixing with or adding to Greek yogurt, ice cream, panacotta or cakes – impressed the judges so much with its “most inviting aroma” and “gorgeous meld of acidity, sugar and thyme”, that they decided to give it the ultimate accolade of three Great Taste Awards stars.
Just one in three of around 10,000 fine food products entered into this year’s Great Taste Awards were handed the much-coveted stars.
RH Amar has been named the Family Business United Thames Valley Family Business of the Year for the second year running.
